How to receive money with Western Union:

Step 1. Fill out a 'To Receive Money' form at a Western Union ® Agent Location.
Step 2. Give the form, current government-issued photo ID and 10-digit MTCN to the Agent clerk.
Step 3. Agent clerk will give the money in cash or cheque, and a receipt.

  • Use of debit card, Visa or Mastercard depends on services available at the Agent location. Not all agents offer all services
  • You may be asked to provide additional information prior to approval of your transaction
  • You may be asked to call Customer Service at 1-877-989-3268 to complete your transaction
  • When your payment is approved, the transaction will be sent. Once the money has been transferred, the receiver may pick up the funds
  • You can click on Transfer Status to find out if the funds have been picked up.
  • Funds availability is based on approved transactions and the hours of operation at the receiving Agent location
  • Do not use Western Union directly or indirectly to fund illegal Internet gambling and/or illegal activity
